HeartGold/SoulSilver are probably the most expansive and complete Pokemon games. Platinum has the feeling of a "grand finale", and really captures the spirit of going "out there" on your own. Black/White are the most invididualistic games. They're a very distinct flavor, not to everyones taste, but the supporters are rabid.

Nine Parchments is a very entertaining and pretty looking fantasy co-op game. Overcooked, Mario and Sonic Olympics, Tricky Towers, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Minecraft, Screen Cheat, Mario Party, Marooners, Scribblenauts Showdown, Tools Up, Escapists 2, Runbow, Rayman Legends, Mario Kart. Diablo 3 is great for couch coop.

erix84 • 10 mo. ago. Quality wise I'd say Arceus is probably the best on the Switch. It looks good, runs well, the gameplay loop is much better than oldschool Pokemon games, it's a lot of fun. I haven't played either Let's Go, but if you've got nostalgia it'd be up your alley. It's less about battling and more about catching a ton of Pokemon.
All the ones on switch are pretty easy. Diamond and pearl are really hard at the very end only for no reason. Sword and shield and Scarlet F Violet are easy. Scarlet and Violet are open ended which is fun but also might be confusing for a younger kid. Other than Pokemon, Mario games are fun for everyone.
Any pokemon can be shiny, but it's absurdly rare to find them. Legendary are very strong pokemon that there's only one of per game. -Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (remake of gen 3 for 3ds) Or Emerald (gen 3 for GBA) -Platinum (gen 4 for ds) or brilliant diamond/pearl ( gen 4 remakes for switch)
