In the process of trading in a 2016 Golf R with an APR stage 2 tune. The other car dealer wants me to bring it back to OEM to pass the NJ inspection first. I called APR today to get some information on the tune/equipment, and the rep told me I might do better with a private party sale; as APR no longer makes the equipment or do stage II in Air intake and down pipe (decat or sports cat) are the requirements for Stage 2. Cat back isn't a requirement, nor is a larger core cooler. At Stage 2+ (where the fun really starts!!) you'll need air intake, down pipe, high pressure fuel pump. Intercooler is recommended, but not required. Tunes will be the same, and you will need a dsg tune as well if you want to go stage 1+ or stage 2. That cost will be another $500, so yours really looking at $3k.
